The Canberra Lacemakers
About Us
If you ever wanted to learn how to make lace, and you live in or near Canberra, the Canberra Lacemakers would be very happy to hear from you.
Newcomers will find lots of support to learn about this craft, whether you are interested in bobbin lace, needle lace, tatting or knitted lace. Our members can set you up with a starter kit, mentor you as you learn new techniques, and we have a comprehensive library which members can borrow from to learn more about the craft and different styles of lace.
We meet on the second and the fourth Thursdays of most months at the Weston Creek Community Centre from 1-4pm to share our knowledge and to support each other on our individual lace journeys. We also host a full meeting day every three months on a Saturday from 10.30am to 4.00pm. There is no expectation that members will stay for an entire session, but most do!
