About Us
The National Film and Sound Archive is Australia's 'living' archive – the custodian of over 3 million items that we not only collect but preserve for future generations and share in many diverse ways.
We are Australia’s audiovisual archive, we are responsible for the development, preservation, maintenance, promotion, as well as the provision of access to our national collection of film, television, sound, radio, video games, new media, and related documents and artefacts.
Our mission is to collect, preserve and share Australia’s vibrant and diverse audiovisual culture.
